From July 1st to July 4th we hosted 20 US American Highschool students and their leader teachers. The guests stayed with our students and their families.

This year’s stay started at the weekend, so guests and hosts enjoyed this unique time together. On Monday, the Austrian students participated in their projects and the Americans had a guided tour round Steyr and an impressive reception at the town hall, where they met the vice mayor, Mr Wilhelm Hauser. The afternoon in the sun they spent together again. Tuesday morning was time to say good-bye already, which was much too early.

Unfortunately, the homestay only lasted for a few days. We would have loved to enjoy the company of our new friends for some more time. Now we need to keep contact and visit each other within the coming years. We were extremely lucky with our guests, as they proved to be wonderful friendly and funny ambassadors. We have learned a lot about each other and our home countries. And most of all, we have made new friends.
